Nothing to Report

Nothing to see here. The only thing that inspired me food wise this weekend was a fine Mexican meal made by Cousin of Food and Girlfriend of Cousin of Food. They whipped up 3 Salsas, Guacamole, excellent marinaded meats, warm tortillas, Spanish rice, and more. So unless Cousin of Food posts the place where the meat marinades were from, there is really nothing to see here. Thanks for the meal.

Firstly, I'm loving your blog since I am a Vegas newcomer missing the culinary diversity of San Franciso. Down to brass tax - the carne asada and pollo asado are from Ramey's Meats in Brawley, California, which is about 30 minutes north of the Mexican border. In a border community where carne asada is taken quite seriously, Ramey's multiple carne asada taste awards really mean something! While they don't have a website, you can get the meat mail-ordered to you by calling 760.344.4420 during regular business hours. Buen provecho!

They ain't kidding. Some muy tasty meats. I actually liked the chicken better and that is saying something as the carne asade (beef) was very nice. The one nice thing about poultry -- it absorbs flavors better, so when I say I liked the chicken better I am really complimenting the marinade.

Excellent, thanks Girlfriend of Cousin of Food! Now this post is something to see. Ramey's is now on the Family of Food map. If you haven't taken a look, all of the food finds we dicuss on the blog are put on the map. The link is found on the blog sidebar.
